QD bushing is easy to install and remove. They are separated by the barrel and have a taper to provide accurate clamping on the shaft. They are keyed to the post and hub for blind installation.
How to install QD sprocket
Make sure that the tapered surface of the bushing and the inside of the driven product are clean and free of anti-seize lubricant
Place the bushing in the sprocket or other parts.
Loosely place the cap screw in the upper pull hole. The bushing remains loose to ensure a sliding fit with the shaft.
Use the keys on the shaft to slide the sprocket to the desired position on the post. Make sure that the head of the cap screw is accessible.
Align the sprocket. Tighten the screws alternately and gradually until they are tightened (see the table below). Do not use an extension on the wrench handle. Do not allow the sprocket to contact the bushing flange. There should be a gap between the bushing flange and the sprocket.
The QD sprocket has a quick removal bushing and a flange that connects the bushing to the sprocket. It is also designed with a four-degree taper and cap screws for installation. The bushing also has hardened teeth to withstand wear.

There are QD sprockets of various sizes. These single-strand steel sprockets can be ordered in 2 styles: with and without hardened teeth. The diameter of the sprocket determines how many teeth it can hold.

Also, ensure clearance between the QD bushing flange and the chain hub. This clearance prevents excessive stress on the chain hub.
The QD bushing is designed to insert into the tapered hole of the sprocket. The bushing is flanged to the sprocket, and the flange is held in place with cap screws. Another precaution when using QD sprockets is to avoid applying anti-seize lubricant to the cones. This may damage the sprocket and invalidate any manufacturer’s warranty.

In addition to hardened teeth, Martin’s saber tooth sprocket has also been set to extend the life of the chain. This type of sprocket is recommended for 4 to 1 and smaller ratios. It is also recommended for sprockets with less than 24 teeth.
Smart tooth technology is another feature that makes these sprockets unique. It includes a wear indicator pin on the thrust face of the teeth. The wear indicator pin will be exposed when the profile begins to reverse.
